Julius Conway, Jr., the son of Julius Conway, Sr. and Clara Booker Conway, was born June 22, 1929 in Covington, Kentucky and entered into eternal peace on March 14, 2007.

Julius graduated from High School in Covington, Kentucky and attended Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry. He continued his studies at the Carver Foundation at Tuskegee Institute and received a Master of Science Degree. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Air Force in 1952.
He served for 25 years in the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He traveled extensively throughout the Far East and is a decorated Vietnam veteran. He earned numerous commendation medals for this career work in communications, intelligence, and security. His last military assignment was with the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Maryland. After his military retirement in 1977, he continued his career with Grumman Corporation until he retired in 1990.
Julius was a life member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was a longtime active supporter and treasurer of the National Alumni Association of his alma mater, Clark College of Atlanta. He was also a member of the Philharmonic Society of Clark College. He was a devoted member of the Locust United Methodist Church of Columbia, Maryland where his melodious base voice was a cherished addition to the church choir. He was also a member and Treasurer of the Aesop Robinson Golf Association of Ft. Meade for many years.
Conway, as he was known, was an avid golfer and bowler and a talented singer to the end of his life. His friendly and outgoing personality, along with a great sense of humor, earned him many, many friends over the years.
Julius leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, and college sweetheart, Willie Ruth McMullen; four children, David Rogers, Alan Paul, Jerri Lynne Lingham, and Edward Howard, all in Columbia. Son-in-law, Andre Lingham; daughters-in-law, Rochelle and Andrea. Six adored grandchildren, Yohance, Alexandra, Marisa, Sydney, Alexander, Collin. Also left to mourn are his two sisters, Clara M. Stewart and Geraldine Gamble, both of Cincinnati, Ohio and a brother-in-law, Harry P. Lamonzs of Front Royal, Virginia; and other relatives and friends.
He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. Acts 10:2
