A precious one from us has gone; A voice we loved is still A place is vacant in our hearts Which never can be filled.
Faye T. Veney was the daughter of Emma M. Harris and the late Frank Edward Harris. She was born on November 14, 1938 in Onancock, Virginia and was the first of three children.

Faye received her early education in the Accomac County Public School System, and graduated from Mary N. Smith High School in 1955. She continued her education at Virginia State University, where she majored in English. Faye married her "home boy" and childhood sweetheart, Clifton R. Veney ("Vic") in 1958. To this family, one child was born, Clifton R. Veney, Jr ("Cliffie"). He was the light of their life and became Faye´s "focal point" until her death. She loved her son, family, and church.
As an Army family, Faye and "Vic" traveled (she traveled until the end) extensively and cohabited in many places throughout the world, including Germany, Hawaii, Kentucky, and North Carolina, to name a few. They met and developed friendships with people from around the world. Likewise, Faye was employed by many establishments throughout the world. Upon her husband´s retirement, Faye and her family settled in Severn, Maryland. Faye was employed in the Budget Office at Fort George G. Meade until she retired in April 2007 due to failing health.
Faye accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of Macedonia AME Church, Accomac, Virginia. During their Army career, Faye moved from city to city with her husband. But, she remained faithful to the Lord and always found a place to worship. She was affiliated with several churches throughout the country. Finally, she joined The Historic Main Post Chapel, Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland, where she served until her health failed.
Early Friday morning, September 7, 2007, God dispatched his loving angels to the home of her sister Shirley Belsches, to escort Faye T. Veney to her heavenly home.
Faye´s husband and "soul mate," Clifton R. Veney, preceded her in death. To cherish her memory, she leaves her mother, Emma M. Harris; one son, Clifton R. Veney, Jr; one sister, Shirley H. Belsches (Welton); one brother, Franklin P. Harris (Mary Ann); two aunts, Bonita Wise of Linden, NJ and Blanche Harris of Accomac, VA; one uncle, Rev. George Harris of Accomac, VA; six brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; a dear friend, Mary N. Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
